This is a blood test that tests 150 different foods and chemicals individually to see if your immune system is being activated and causing an inflammatory response. Any food can cause this to happen and can even be a food you ate three or four days ago. It also screens for the interactions of different foods and the natural and added chemicals in the foods you eat.
Unlike food allergies, food sensitivity is usually more than one food that is triggering your reactions. This inflammatory reaction can cause IBS, fibromyalgia, and migraines but it also has to do with other inflammatory conditions in your body such as depression, arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, eczema, ADD/ADHD, GERD, and interstitial cystitis, just to name a few.
Food Sensitivity Testing entails giving blood, which can be done at Hendersonville ObGyn and Family Medicine. It will take approximately three weeks to get the results back at which time you will begin an elimination protocol. Depending on your condition you can expect to see a 50-80% reduction in symptoms within ten to fourteen days!
